Elisa Spampinato

Elisa Spampinato is a travel writer, passionate about Latin America, the biodiversity of our planet, and, most of all, the cultures that populate our world. With her work, she focuses on the untold stories of local communities, the indigenous, traditional, and rural, but also the modern and the urban ones. With her writing she wants to unveil sustainable and regenerative practises at the grassroots level, to discover ways to travel in a responsible way, and to make tourism an opportunity for transformational encounters, for all. As a Community Storyteller, she uses an ethnographic approach in order to guarantee the visibility of the protagonists’ voices, through what she calls ethical marketing. The Destination Community - The Postcard Series campaign – launched at the beginning of the pandemic – has the main objective to highlight the personal stories of the local protagonists in CBT projects and to contribute to a shift toward a responsible way of doing tourism, in which the travellers consider themselves as curious and respectful guests. She is the founder of Traveller Storyteller, an online platform conceived as a hub of innovation and creative solutions for tourism businesses through marketing and storytelling, built around the unheard voices, lateral perspectives, and the local protagonists.
