Destination Regeneration Session

We invite you to join this insightful and disruptive panel of leaders bringing new ideas to our most vexing problems in tourism.

The TTC is excited to celebrate the unique and impactful achievement of our first two 'Destination Regeneration' early adopters, Willamette Valley Visitor Association and Whidbey and Camano Islands, during this 1-hour inspirational and informational session on Wednesday, July 5 at 10AM Pacific Time.

The panel session will be moderated by Jillian Dickens, Facilitator of TTC’s Destination Regeneration. She will be joined by:

• Dawnielle Tehama, Executive Director, Willamette Valley Visitors Association

• Sherrye Wyatt, Marketing Manager, Embrace Whidbey and Camano Islands

• Vanessa Vivian Wabitsch, Facilitator, Destination Regeneration

• Jake Haupert, CEO, Transformational Travel Council

The group will share insights and stories of the transformative learning journey, the TTC led over the last year, in the pursuit of becoming the world's first two TTC-Accredited Regenerative Places.  

Destination Regeneration is a 12-month hands-on learning journey weaving theory and applied practice for tourism destinations to reimagine tourism, build concrete capacities, design transformational experiences, and inspire and involve local stakeholders in co-designing a regenerative development plan for their place and community.

Destinations around the world have a chance to help travel fulfill its regenerative, interpersonal, and transformative potential like never before. The moment we are collectively in is uniquely suited for destinations to advance tourism as a force for good.

The world demands innovative solutions to legacy problems associated with our sector and this program was designed to address the upstream issues that have resulted in overtourism and travel's inherent negative environmental impacts.
