Jake's Weekly Flow #3

Weekly Flow #3 - January 20, 2023

Greetings, fellow seeker

Welcome to my weekly flow of news, events, insightful perspectives, and impactful stories aimed at creating positive change in your life and the lives you touch, at home and on the road

My curious mind, intuitive soul, and big heart, along with some personal connections and crushes on extraordinary humans have put me in a position to receive an abundance of practical information, exciting innovation, and deep wisdom, usually travel-related, that has flowed to me, and now, on to you.

This is my interpretation of exciting things happening in the world and how the TTC connects to all the threads that bind our movement.

Before you scan, take a breath, tune in, open up to the flow, and find your glow

  • Download the ‘Experience Strategy Trends Report’ published by our partners at Stone Mantel. We are working with Joe Pine, Dave, Norton and Aransas Savas in the Transformation Economy Collaborative and will be launching a similar report on The Transformation Economy this July. Still, some cool foreshadowing can be seen on pages 31 and 32, featuring a few of our Ally members, Revivo Wellness Resorts, Walking Mentorship, and Explorer X!

    • I am planning to ‘Walk the Camino’ with Joao and “meet my better version” this summer!

  • For Tomorrow - A Film about the face of real change. The documentary is the story of grassroots innovators striving to create a more sustainable future. Available on YouTube and Amazon Prime.

  • YAY! See Ally Dawnielle Tehama, Executive Director of the Willamette Valley Visitor Association, featured on Portland TV news, sharing a bit about our year-long ‘Destination Regeneration’ program she and her community has just completed!

  • Take 5 minutes and learn 5 Ways to be an Anti-Racist, then put in the work

  • Good pal and former President of the Adventure Travel Trade Association, Casey Hanisko, recently published her first book of poems! Ripple: A Book of Poems (Paperback) | Ripple: A Book of Poems (Kindle) If you like, please leave her a review.

  • Have you heard of the Inner Development Goals? Peace in oneself, peace in the world with self-compassion. Learn more by attending their virtual Gathering on the 24th of January.

  • Are you on Mastodon yet? Mastodon is part of a collection of free, decentralized, and loosely organized groups of servers referred to as the “Fediverse,” short for “federated universe.”

  • I meditate in the water most days, here is some insight into how water is life, and meditating with water can create a profound experience.

Song of the Open Road

By Walt Whitman

Afoot and light-hearted I take to the open road,

Healthy, free, the world before me,

The long brown path before me leading wherever I choose.

Henceforth I ask not good-fortune, I myself am good-fortune,

Henceforth I whimper no more, postpone no more, need nothing,

Done with indoor complaints, libraries, querulous criticisms,

Strong and content I travel the open road.

The earth, that is sufficient,

I do not want the constellations any nearer,

I know they are very well where they are,

I know they suffice for those who belong to them.

(Still here I carry my old delicious burdens,

I carry them, men and women, I carry them with me wherever I go,

I swear it is impossible for me to get rid of them,

I am fill’d with them, and I will fill them in return.)

Click here to read the rest, it will take a moment, but it is time well spent.

On a personal note, parenting teens is really hard, matter of fact, life is hard. I am going to gather my family and watch this tonight. Simon Sinek’s Life-Changing Advice Will Leave You SPEECHLESS (MUST WATCH). I hope I can keep their attention!

I sincerely hope that you find some inspiration to innovate and some motivation to take action. Life is about feeling alive, we feel alive when we have meaning and purpose, so keep stoking that fire. And if you’re feeling lost or disconnected, head out on a journey, we have a few Ally members that can help.

Flow and glow!
