The YOURNEY of our Lives

We’ve always been experience chasers, since Ana & I (Juan) met we always talked about how much we love to travel, how much there’s to see in the world, and how little time we feel there’s in people’s lives to explore all it has to offer. Which is why we decided to make our passion our life’s purpose, we decided to take what we love most, and transform it into what we do as a living. 

Traveling has always been a part of our lives, our first trip together as a couple was to Palenque, it’s a famous archaeological city in Mexico’s South East Chiapas. As the trip went by, we realized how much we enjoyed traveling and how this was just the first stop among hundreds of other destinations we’d be adding to our list. Our honeymoon trip was to SouthEast Asia; from meeting buddhists in Bhutan, to hiking mountains in Nepal, discovering ancient temples in Cambodia and trying spicy food in Thailand; there was so much not only to see, but to taste, to hear and to learn in this trip. This opened our expectations of destinations to a whole new level, and made us realize how important each step of a Journey is, how much those little details matter in a trip. Which is why we decided to go for it... during the year 2016 we decided to quit our comfortable, routinary lives in Los Angeles and move to Los Cabos, Baja California Sur (also known as La Baja). 

La Baja is famous for an endless list of things: it has some of the most beautiful crystal clear beaches out there, it’s home to 1⁄3 of the marine mammals in the world, it’s the #1 destination with the most luxury hotels in the world and it’s without a doubt drop dead stunning. This is the reason we decided to move here, as our lives quickly sped through our eyes we realized we wanted to improve not the quantity ($) but the quality of how we were living; we wanted to change the focus not only of our lives but of our kids as well (when we moved to Baja we only had one little girl, now we have a boy as well :) so we decided to begin a YOURNEY that would never end. 

It was living in Baja that we started this project now named YOURNEY. Our mission is to make YOU our priority. We design custom made experiences in which you are the protagonist, we focus on delivering innovation, personalization and a path of self discovery through traveling. Our one true aim is to be able to help YOU find those unexpressed dreams you have; whether it’s in sandboarding the Doha dunes, trying a cooking class with a local chef in Baja, sleeping in a Ryokan in Japan or simply strolling the streets of the busy Jaipur city center looking for something to eat. This is why we started YOURNEY, to be able to change people’s lives through travel. 

The first trip we ever designed was one to Japan; we still remember the excitement and anxiousness we felt when we finally were able to design this experience. Being able to not only to advise and guide our customers in every single detail of their journey; but also by providing them a one of a kind experience; with local guides and unique tips, this was our dream coming to life. 

It hasn’t all been easy that’s for sure, we’ve had our ups and downs, just like anyone. That’s part of the experience, something we always like to say is that there’s no bad destinations, there’s not one destination we wouldn’t recommend. Of course we’ve had our bad share of experiences; like that one time that we got lost in the desert of Atacama, Chile & got rescued until 4 am, or that other time we traveled a whole day to a hotel in the middle of Hakone, just to discover we had no reservation at all. But that’s what journey’s are all about! They’re about learning and getting out of your comfort zone, traveling’s about those good and bad moments you’re experiencing in a new country, with a language you don’t understand, while you have no signal, but that you’ll remember forever.
